Dr. Catherine Steding
Scientific Advisor

Dr. Catherine has more than 13 years of intensive research experience focused on several aspects of molecular genetics.  Her career started as an interested undergrad exploring the world of our nematode friends, C. elegans.  After completing her undergraduate education, Dr. Steding continued her research education in genetics by working as a technician exploring the role of mutation accumulation and DNA repair pathways in model organisms.  This experience led her to pursue a graduate education that focused on cancer gene therapy and the role of the immune system in cancer therapeutics.  Upon completing her published work in cancer immunotherapy, she pursued a postdoctoral training opportunity that furthered her experience in human cancers.  This time led to her interest in the role of molecular genetics in cancer development, progression and metastasis.  Dr. Steding currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Genetics at Indiana State University.  In her independent research laboratory, Dr. Steding focuses on molecular genetics with a particular emphasis on acquired chemoresistance and combinatorial immunotherapy.
